A Message from a Butterfly

Today I was running about 2 hours late for my daily bush walk with my dogs. As I got to the bush my phone rang. It was a lady calling to thank me for the jewellery I had made herself her sister and her Dad to honour her mothers life.

These special pieces where the last truly one off designs I would make and it was an hounour to do it for such a lovely man and his family. I tried to talk him out of using me as it was going to take me a long time to do it as I explained I no longer was making the one off's as of 2018. He got me at the very end of 2017. (All I do now days is things I can buy in direct that do not need to be personalized or lockets and memory balls, I just fill with images and seal)

Such a beautiful man such a beautiful sole that loved his wife so much and misses her desperately.

As I as started my walk and was talking to this lady and she thanked me (gee I needed that today too I have not had the best week) I could feel something tapping my leg a persistent tap and it was not going away so I looked down to see the most beautiful and stunning Aqua Blue Butterfly this image I got of the Internet is as close as I could find as it has very fine black line around its wings. It was stunning as I looked at it and it knew it had my attention it flew around in front of me it would not go away coming very very close and touching my chest. I have never seen butterflies on my walk lots of flies many many flies but never anything a beautiful as this.

I knew it was this ladies mother. I was almost in tears but had to ask her "What does bright aqua blue mean to you?" she said wanting to know I guess why I was asking such an odd question as it had nothing to do with our conversation. She replied "It was my mothers favorite colour, it was the colour we loved to see her in the most and would always buy her that colour for her to wear especially in things like scarves."

You can then guess the conversation and tears that followed.

I have always said that your loved ones are still very much around you and that they will come to you in some form often through nature or music or smell.

Today it was a butterfly a beautiful aqua blue butterfly a reminder of the years I helped families and the love I put into my jewellery, and the fact it does mean a lot to many.

Thank you butterfly I needed that today.

Sunset and retirment for Jason my Jeweller

The Sun is setting on another year and another part of the Sue-Ella Jewellery range.

The time has finally come to say good bye to my Jeweller Jason that has worked with me for over 7 years. The pressure of making the handmade jewellery with the time restraints he has, have become too much for him and yesterday he informed me he was retiring fully from the jewellery and would no longer be able to make any more jewellery for me.

This I totally understand as we have both been winding down what we do. Jason with a new career and me with my property investment and Airbnb business.

No more hand made pieces will be available or conversions of balls to hold ashes or hair

I will still have the time to make and personalized bought in lockets and do the memory balls or Natural stones. I have a few memorial pieces I can buy in still however the range is small and no personalized handmade jewellery or engraving will be available. I will try and update my blog as much as I can to let you know what is no longer available and will copy and paste this link to inquiry emails when received so families understand.

We both wish you all the best for the Holiday Season and Safe New Year. We have loved helping you and will always remember each and every story and life that has touched our hearts.

Order time lines

Order Time Lines

As most of you are aware I no longer do this jewellery full time and my jeweller has moved away and he no longer works full time making the jewellery either.

We will always be here if anyone that needs up finds us however my focus in now on my property investment business with my husband something that is a lot easier on my heart.

For this reason and the fact that Jason (jeweller) has moved 2 hours away so Australia Post is heavy involved in mowing the jewellery around adding time we can no longer take orders with very specific date requirements or limitations.

We are sorry but it is too stressful for us and for this reason we will not be taking any orders now that will be required by Christmas

We do the orders as fast as we can. Some pieces may take a week yet some may take up to two or three or even four weeks depending on what it is.

The stress of having very specific dates is too much.

Orders we take will take the time that they date and a very ruff estimated time will be given when inquires made and I do keep families updated as orders progress

Freight is something now that does hold up the new way we do things

Letting a family down as a piece of jewellery can not be finished in time is not something we never want happen. We would prefer someone else helps you if time is of delivery is important to you.

Jason Moving a few hours away

Jason will be a few hours away now

Once again my jeweller due to family commitments is on the move and so is his workshop. As most of you that follow my work know both I and my jeweller no longer do this work full time. Over the years it has taken its toll on our hearts as we invest so much of ourselves into every piece we create.

Sadly Jason is this time moving over 2 hours away from me and we will have to do a lot via email and Australia post

We are still commuted to helping those that find us and need our help it will just take some time now to make your treasured jewellery

Orders that are currently placed will be completed however there will be many things we cannot work on until Mid Sept 2017

I will be making most of the fine silver fingerprint range, memory balls and personalising of lockets. Engraving will no longer be available unless been handmade by Jason as the cost of posting to and from him will be prohibitive just for engraving

All our jewellery is solid sterling silver or solid gold so ok to engrave at home by others. if you have concerns if our piece can be engraved then just ask

We wish Jason and his family all the best with this latest move we know it has been a difficult year and know this move is what is ultimately best for is family and I will miss my friend as well been so close and someone I would visit so often

Jeweller on the move again

My Jeweller is moving

Once again my jeweller is on the move and so is his workshop. As most of you that follow my work know both I and my jeweller no longer do this work full time. Over the years it has taken its toll on our hearts as we invest so much of ourselves into every piece we create.

Good bye 2016

Good bye from 2016

Its that time of year again where I say good bye and retreat with my hubby our dogs and friends to a very special place on a river.

My heart always needs a rest from the jewellery as you know and this year has been no exception.

This year has also brought me amazing news of miracle babies for some of the mum's I have helped over the years with the saddest of jewellery and now the most joyous celebration jewellery and I know of a few more miracles due next year and this truly makes me so happy

As most of you would know I no longer dedicate myself full time to my jewellery.

I will always help those that find me and need me, it just takes a little longer now days that it use to

With December and Christmas fast approaching the usual is happening. Australia Post is starting to get slower and my suppliers of items I buy in are starting to run out of stock and I have very limited time to work on any one off or personalize items

Therefore I will be unable to process any jewellery required for Christmas after the 1st of December 2016. For orders outside Australia any one off or personalized items will not be able to be ordered now until 2017

Items I have in stock or that are easily ordered in that do not require fully personalizing for overseas an be ordered up until 1st December 2016

For Australia in stock items can be ordered until 14th December 2016

Richard Heart

The Richard Heart

Today I have added to my blog page a new style of heart and it will be knows as the "Richard Heart" named after a beautiful soul gone from his family too soon

His wife wanted something special to have in memory of him so together we came up with this after a few emails back and forth she wanted a heart that was a puffy style but with more "cleavage" and I think we have achieved this. Its a stunning heart style

The Richard heart is handmade so each one will be slightly different something I love as not two lives are the same. They can be made in solid 9ct or 18ct gold of any colour and are over 5grams of gold. We can also make in sterling silver and would come with a 50cm sterling silver chain

There is a screw in the back to undo for easily filling of hair or ashes

How a stone will choose you

This week I am filling one of these in a stunning orange colour (Carnelian) for a lovely lady and doing this made me remember how special they really are

These stone rings must be filled my end as they are filled and sealed as part of the making process you cannot fill them at home

They are sterling silver with natural cabochon stones

Ring sizes are from 6 to 10

If your size is not available then a resizing charge of $30 is additional

To see stones images can be emailed to those that are truly interested

my stone supplier is happy to send the images of stones they have in stock to those that are truly interested in purchase

Taking the images and email them does take time out of their day as they have to remover rings from display stock to photograph and send to me and they are lovely to do this for me.

A Natural Stone will Choose you

Does a Natural Stone choose you?

I know many people believe if you sit with a litter of puppies that your new family member will choose you and I know in the case of our dog Chillie this is true. We went to look for our new puppy thinking we were getting the black and white one and if anyone follows me at all knows Chillie is caramel and white. She was going home with us she decided she was not going to miss out of all the fun we have

I know many people believe this of their children that your child chooses to come into the world with you as their parent

I feel the same way about natural stones and I have blogged about this before and I will put more links at the end of this post

Natural stones are amazing no two are ever the same, just as not two lives are the same. For many different stone types carry different energies and different healing powers or meanings

This week the stone above chose a family very special to me. They had lost a father, grandfather and great grandfather. This stone is for his wife to wear with his image in the back. I was talking to his daughter and after much going back and forth with ideas. Moonstone NO, Green No Blue Yes I wanted green turquoise she wanted a blue stone so we settled on blue turquoise even though I still wanted green. At least the one thing we did agree on was oval

So I emailed my supplier to send me photos of Blue turquoise in oval

Then this little tear drop made its way into the images they sent me

OMG it was perfect I wish this photo of it could do it justice it is stunning and the most amazing blues and greens you could ever see and when you hold it the stone has the most amazing energy

This little stone chose us and this family and now has the image of a very special man sealed in the back of it

I now many of you sometime have and "exact" image or plan in your head of what you want when it comes to your jewellery

I say sometimes it is better to let the universe work out what it is that you are wanting and if you leave your heart and mind open to this in every part of your life I know you will experience fulfillment like you have never known before

Starting the wind down

Today it has become even more obvious to me that I am no longer having the time to do all the things I use to do when it comes to my jewellery business. Anyone that has followed me over these past 7 years knows that over the past year in particular I am focusing more and more on my husbands and my property and building business. The memorial jewellery business takes a toll on me emotionally as I feel peoples grief in every piece I make and there is only so much of that my heart can take.

Most of the jewellery I make myself and I have less and less time. Some I buy in and some I have to trust others to do. Sadly with less time I am unable to focus as much as I should on what others do for me and been a perfectionist I do not delegate well

For this reason I am now starting to delete ranges form my blog and will no longer be offering word engraving on any of the jewellery

All the jewellery is solid sterling silver or solid gold or stainless steel so can be easily engraved by others when you receive it . I have noted this on most of my pages and if I have missed any I do apologize.

I am also slowing going through the blog and deleting lines of jewellery that I am unable to now supply. Some posts or links may be missed and I again apologize for that, this blog has grown so much over the years and has countless links to ideas to help families. As most of the jewellery is ordered via email as it is personalized I will be able to help with replies to what I am able to provide and not provide

There are so many places to buy memorial jewellery on the internet I know when it does comes time to finish my work totally I know you will be in the good hands of other caring people

For now I am still making one off designs and placing and sealing images in lockets and memory balls but I know in my heart that my time of giving and doing this work is running out

Welome 2016

I am back for 2016

Today I am back in my office and work room for 2016 and this is going to be an amazing year, sending love and blessing to you all for the same

This is where I woke up most mornings of my break a very special place for both myself and my husband, a place we go to every year to "refresh" our body minds and spirits with good friends and this much loved river

My wait list is now open and I am working on all handmade one off jewellery again. My jeweller is away until the end of January 2016 so some items may still take some time to put together. His daughter is on hand helping me and as you know a lot of the items I do myself so it will depend on what you have ordered

As a lot of you know I now work more full time with my husband in our property investment business and from time to time I will be away working with him renovating houses and such. The jewellery and your stories take a lot out of me emotionally and as the years go on I will be moving more and more away from my jewellery business and more into our property one. I will always be here to help families that do need me for those special handmade one off peices of memorial jewellery I could never let anyone down, it just may be that wait times get a little longer

It is that time of year again when I take myself away from my office and work room and let me heart heal. So many of you share such sad stories with me throughout the year and each of them does indeed break my heart just that little more so by this time of year it is time for me to have a break and do what is best for me and time away helps

Sending love to you all and I hope Christmas and the holidays is not too unkind to those that are grieving, especially if this is your first Christmas without that very special loved one.

Christmas order closing dates

Christmas Order Closing dates 2015

Christmas and the holiday season is fast approaching

This means that the mail man starts to go really slow and suppliers and my jeweler get supper busy and wait times longer

So please note anything with a normal wait time of 2 weeks will now be 3 min and if you require handmade items and you are overseas (not in Australia) then your orders must be finalized by next Friday the 13th of November 2013

If ordering something not handmade or personalized that I do have in stock then you will need to finalize overseas orders by 27th November 2015

Australian handmade orders will need to be finalized by the 27th of November 2015 and for in stock not personalized orders they will have to be completed by Friday 18th December 2015

Orders just will not make it in time Christmas and the holidays are just so slow with post and crazy with making orders so please get in quick if you would like something.

Melting down her Dads old gold chain

She melted down her Dads old gold chain

A few weeks ago I received an email from a lady who had lost her beloved father over 10 years ago she had worn his solid gold chain from that day on

Over time this chain wore out as they can with continual wear as all gold chains can and it was beyond repair

The solution we came up with was to melt down to make it into a solid gold Angel wing for her to wear

Over the years I have made many many special pieces of jewellery using old gold that either was broken and was not worth repairing or things as special as this chain or wedding rings that belonged to loved ones past

Her Wing as it is now on a chain she owned

Old gold can be melted down and made in to Angel wings like this or some may choose to have memorial pendants made to hold ashes or hair from lost loved ones

you will loose about 10% of weight from the gold you have in the melting process. the cost to have a new peice created from your old gold starts at $170

If you require more gold it will be added at the daily gold price and this can range from $55 a gram to $65 a gram based on prices when this blog post written Sept 2015

The most important thing to remember when dealing in gold is weight is so important to cost

Gone from earth too soon

She was young she as beautiful and she was taken from her earth family too soon

I remember the day I held her hand in the mortuary to take her finger print. I had spoken to her mother the day before and it was just not fair just not fair at all. It is never fair when someone is gone so young. Cancer is hideous and does not discriminate

I think this extract from an email I received from her mother explains so much of this young ladies story and fight

"No words can ever express the loss and pain, over 14 yrs from the age of 7 to have over 150 operations, to be the first so many times in the world for so many different reasons and for herself to re-write medical history over and over and then still hold down 3 jobs right to the end, a fully qualified Hairdresser, youngest representative in Q.L.D consulting Loraine Lea Linen and a Wedding Planner and still having a huge smile everyday with an extremely positive attitude, it is just not fair."

This family does not live far from me so I have got to know them well especially after visiting their home and seeing so many photos of this young lady and the beautiful way they have continued to remember and memorialize her in their home. From statues of Angels with photos of her, photos everywhere her hand cast and one of my favorites is an amazing glass top table filled with personal keepsakes and I was privileged enough to not only be shown this precious piece of furniture but was aloud to photograph it

Her family have chosen to remember in jewellery as well and have her with them every day

Memory balls in solid 9ct gold and sterling silver with photos of her inside from baby to adult capturing those special moments and personality

Then there are Angel wings with her fingerprint in the back in solid 9ct gold and fine silver along with a set of Angel wings with her hair inside and print engraved on the back

It was an honour and privilege yet again to be trusted to make such precious jewellery for this family

Rest in Peace beautiful Angel I know your will be watching over your family and smiling down on them with your beautiful smile xx
